CMTL Delivers Critical Mining Equipment in 6 Days Amid Middle East Supply Chain Crisis
The Challenge
When the Middle East logistics disruption grounded conventional freight routes earlier this year, a mining client’s operation in Mwanza, Tanzania faced a real risk of stoppage. Complicating matters further, the equipment it needed combined dangerous goods (DG) and non-dangerous goods in a single consignment, narrowing an already limited set of transport options.
The Solution
CMTL Logistics engineered an alternative multimodal routing. The consignment was airlifted out of Perth, Australia, transiting via the UAE before landing in Nairobi, Kenya. From there, CMTL’s road team took over with an expedited cross-border movement to the client’s site in Mwanza, Tanzania.
The REsults
Businesses will diversify suppliers and develop agile supply chains to adapt quickly to disruptions, ensuring continuity.
