Truckloads: CMTL’s Cross-Border Road Solution from South Africa to Tanzania
The Challenge
Shipping delays threatened to stall a client’s construction programme at its mine site in Mwanza, Tanzania, putting critical equipment deliveries at risk of falling behind schedule.
The Solution
CMTL bypassed conventional ocean freight in favour of a dedicated overland solution. More than 20 truckloads of mining equipment were collected in Cape Town, consolidated in Durban, and dispatched by road across regional borders directly to the client’s mine site.
The REsults
The approach eliminated port dwell times and shipping uncertainty altogether, keeping construction materials flowing to site without interruption.
